Service

My Dictionary is a freemium vocabulary app: free to use with some limitations, subscription for full access. No advertising. Features include personal and shared dictionaries, learning tools, quizzes, progress tracking, sync, and AI-powered definitions/stories.

Eligibility & access

• You must be 13+ to use the app. One subscription per person.
• We may revoke or restrict access if you break these terms. You can cancel your subscription anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Acceptable use

• OK: Personal learning, your dictionaries, shared dictionaries, export for yourself, multiple devices with one account.
• Not OK: Illegal use, offensive/harmful content, accessing others’ accounts or data without permission, scraping/automation, reverse engineering, spam or harassment.

Content & IP

• You keep rights to your words and content. We don’t collect or store your dictionary content; it stays on your device (see Privacy Policy).
• The app, design, and our branding are ours. Don’t copy or redistribute without permission.
• Third-party content (e.g. definitions, translations) follows their terms; we’re not responsible for it.

AI features

Some features use OpenAI. Use lawful, non-sensitive prompts. AI output can be wrong - use your judgment. We send only what’s needed for the feature; see Privacy Policy.

Subscription & payment

• The app is free with limitations; a subscription removes limits and unlocks all features. We do not show ads.
• Plans: Weekly $3.99, Monthly $4.99, Yearly $39.99 (examples; prices may vary by region). No free trial.
• Billing via the App Store only. Family Sharing is enabled. Auto-renews until you cancel in device settings. Refunds per Apple’s policy.

Shared dictionaries

You control who can access your shared dictionaries. Collaborators can view and edit. We’re not responsible for content others add; use at your own discretion.

Privacy & security

We collect only anonymous analytics and purchase history (see Privacy Policy). You’re responsible for securing your device and managing your subscription.

Availability & changes

We aim for high availability but may have downtime. We may update the app and these terms; we’ll communicate material changes. Continued use = acceptance. You can stop using the app if you don’t agree.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. The app is provided “as is.” Our total liability is limited to what you paid for the service. You’re responsible for backing up your data and for your use of the app.

Termination

If we revoke your access, you lose access to the app. We don’t store your words or progress; we retain only anonymous analytics and purchase records as described in our Privacy Policy. Provisions that should survive (e.g. liability, governing law) still apply.

Third-party services

We use analytics (anonymous) and the App Store for subscription validation. Some features may use other providers (e.g. AI). Their terms and policies apply where relevant.
