Welcome to My Dictionary! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of our vocabulary learning application and services. By downloading, installing, or using My Dictionary, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

My Dictionary is a vocabulary learning application that provides:

• Personal dictionary creation and management
• Vocabulary learning tools and quizzes
• Collaborative dictionary features
• Progress tracking and analytics
• Cross-platform synchronization
• Import and export functionality
• AI-powered definitions, stories, quizzes, and personalized recommendations delivered through OpenAI APIs

User Accounts & Registration

Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• One account per person is allowed

Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• You may not share your account credentials with others
• You may not create accounts for others without their consent

Acceptable Use Policy

You May:

• Use the app for personal vocabulary learning
• Create and manage your own dictionaries
• Collaborate with others on shared dictionaries
• Export your data for personal use
• Use the app on multiple devices with the same account

You May Not:

• Use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Upload content that is offensive, harmful, or violates others' rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Use automated systems to access the service
• Interfere with or disrupt the app's functionality
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Use the app to spam or harass other users

Content & Intellectual Property

Your Content

• You retain ownership of the vocabulary words and content you create
• You grant us a license to store and process your content for app functionality
• You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to any content you add
• You may delete your content at any time

Our Content

• The app, its design, and features are owned by us
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
• Our trademarks and branding are protected

Third-Party Content

• We may provide access to third-party content (definitions, translations, Apple Music previews, lyrics)
• Third-party content is subject to their respective terms and licenses
• We are not responsible for third-party content accuracy or availability

AI-Powered Features

Some experiences rely on OpenAI models to generate definitions, stories, quizzes, or recommendations.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide lawful, non-sensitive prompts (no personal health, financial, or biometric data)
• Review AI outputs before sharing or relying on them—generated content may contain mistakes
• Report problematic generations so we can improve safety filters

Our Commitments

• We send only the data required to fulfill the AI feature you request
• We disclose that OpenAI processes your prompts under their API terms
• We may store outputs in your account so you can revisit previous lessons

Subscription & Payment Terms

Subscription Required

My Dictionary requires an active subscription to access the service. The app includes the following features:

• Personal dictionary creation and management
• Unlimited vocabulary storage
• AI-powered definitions, examples, and quizzes
• Advanced organization with tags and categories
• Collaborative dictionary features
• Unlimited exports and imports
• Advanced analytics and progress tracking
• Word collections
• Premium Speechify TTS

Subscription Options

• Monthly: Starts at $2.99 for the first month, then $4.99/month
• Yearly: 3-day free trial, then $39.99/year (saves $19.89 per year)

Payment & Billing

• Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• You can cancel subscriptions through your device's settings
• For yearly subscriptions, you can cancel during the 3-day trial period without being charged
• Refunds are subject to Apple/Google's refund policies
• Your subscription continues until the end of the billing period after cancellation

Collaborative Features

Shared Dictionaries

• You can create and share dictionaries with other users
• You control who has access to your shared dictionaries
• Collaborators can view and edit shared content
• You can remove collaborators at any time

Collaboration Rules

• Respect other users' contributions
• Do not add inappropriate or offensive content
• Be mindful of shared dictionary purposes
• Report any misuse of collaborative features

Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Service Availability & Updates

Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
